Diablo Media did things a little differently this year when it came to attending Ad:tech San Francisco. Instead of sending an army of Diablo employees to saturate the conference, they sent a team of two, Tracy Cohen and myself, Rochelle Emerson.
We flew out on Sunday afternoon just in time to kick off the 5th Annual Petersmeyer Golf Classic at the Presidio Golf Course & Café. After checking into our hotel in Union Square, we went to enjoy some fresh seafood at John’s Grill – a restaurant we found that was over 100 years old!
Monday morning we headed over to the Presidio for the Golf Classic. Diablo Media was a sponsor of this event and we brought custom embroidered Diablo Media golf towels for all the golfers. Between handing out towels and beers, and helping the participants register to play, us Diablo girls were everywhere! We met so many new people, chatted with existing clientele, and represented the best affiliate network there was at Ad:tech.
Bringing both sides of CPA marketing to the table, myself with publisher management expertise and Tracy with advertising account knowledge, was very beneficial when talking to both existing and potential clients. It gave us a few new perspectives of where Diablo could be focusing in terms of campaigns.
After networking on the show floor for most of the day, we were off to the “mandatory” networking parties of the evening. We made appearances at several hot spots in San Fran including Ruby Skye, The Grand, and The Clift Hotel, an infamous and popular Ad:tech San Francisco hangout.
Between the golf tournament sponsorship, professional meetings by day, and open socializing events by night, the Diablo ladies definitely made their time at Ad:tech fun, productive, and most of all, meaningful. Thanks to Diablo for giving us the opportunity to represent the company in such an intimate and powerful way. The trip was a huge success and we’re extremely excited about the new opportunities we’ve cultivated from the show!
